About the award
This award will be presented to the student whose dissertation exhibits a deep understanding of an accessibility and inclusion problem, and showcases a creative and practical solution that directly benefits members of the disabled community. There will be a monetary prize of £500, awarded at the end of the 2024-2025 academic session.
Eligibility
All students at the University of Edinburgh writing a dissertation within the School of Informatics starting from the 2024-2025 academic year are eligible for the annual award. Students can be proposed by their supervisor or can propose themselves.
About the selection process
A shortlist will be created by the University of Edinburgh teaching staff in the Informatics department and given to Skyscanner for judging. Each applicant will be asked to fill out a submission form, summarising their dissertation through answering a number of set questions. A short video will also be requested.
How to Apply
- Please complete the Nomination Form by 30th April of the current year. You may self-nominate or nominate a UG/MInf student you believe is eligible for this prize.
- Once nominated, the student will be contacted to complete a submission form, which includes summarizing their dissertation by answering a set of questions. They will also be asked to submit a short video.
Application outcome
