The Fennell Doctoral Scholarship
Applications for the scholarship are invited from candidates engaged in the history of the Americas for the 2024-2025 academic year.
Award
The three-and-a-half year Fennell Doctoral Scholarship will support a new PhD scholar to explore the history of the ‘Americas’. The scholarship will cover full fees (UK or overseas) as well as provide an annual stipend at the standard UKRI rate (rate for 2023-2024 to be announced, but the equivalent for 2022-2023 was £17,668) for three-and-a-half years.

Eligibility
Applicants for these awards must be engaged in research in the history of the Americas and also:
- hold a UK 2.1 or first class honours undergraduate degree (or overseas equivalent) in a relevant field
- demonstrate an equally high standard of academic performance in a postgraduate master’s degree in a relevant field, or be on course to do so
