Research and Teaching Scholarships (RATS) are available for high-calibre PhD students.
Each scholarship covers tuition fees and maintenance of £17,000 per year for the full three years of PhD study. In return, you will work as a tutor and provide teaching assistance.
Candidates must possess a distinction grade MSc in Economics from a UK University, or an overseas equivalent qualification. The Scholarship is awarded solely on the basis of academic merit.
The Scholarship is awarded to candidates who hold an offer for a PhD in Economics. Those wishing to be considered for this award should indicate this on their application form when applying for the PhD in Economics. Successful candidates will be notified by School of Economics in August.
Please note that applications always exceed the number of awards available. Applicants are strongly encouraged to apply for other sources of funding and should not rely on this scholarship as their only potential source of funding.
