AHRC-funded Collaborative Doctoral Award

Fully funded AHRC SGSAH CDA Studentship: “Slavery and Race in the Encyclopaedia Britannica (1768-1860): A Text Mining Approach”

John Orr Research Award

The School of Literatures, Languages and Cultures will offer one award for research in any romance literature, language or dialect.

Muriel Smith Scholarship

One award for applicants studying a Masters in French or Hispanic Studies, or Translation Studies, specialising in French or Spanish.

Funding for Japanese Studies

The School of Literatures, Languages and Cultures will offer a studentship for applicants who are pursuing a Masters programme in Japanese studies in the 2020-2021 academic year

William Hunter Sharpe Memorial Scholarship

One or more scholarships are available to postgraduate students who are accepted onto the full-time MSc Creative Writing programme or the full-time MSc Playwriting programme.

PhD European Research Studentship

This European Research Council award offers one studentship to an academically outstanding candidate who is intending to study on a PhD programme starting in January 2022.

Islamic & Middle Eastern Studies PhD Scholarship

The Hugh Goddard PhD Studentship

The HRH Prince Alwaleed bin Talal Centre for the Study of Islam in the Contemporary World at the University of Edinburgh is offering The Hugh Goddard PhD Studentship in Inter-Religious Relations in a Globalised Muslim World, for a January 2022 start. The studentship is named in honour of the Founding Director of the Edinburgh Alwaleed Centre in recognition of his ground-breaking work on Islam and inter-religious relations.
