Resources and training support for student representatives

Resources and training are available from the Students' Association and the University to support student representatives.

All student representatives receive a robust induction and training package from the Students’ Association, and support throughout the year from the Students’ Association’s Student Voice team, as well as from relevant staff in their School and across the University. They can answer questions and provide support and guidance on topics such as: 

  • School and University structures
  • communicating with the students you represent
  • gathering and sharing feedback
  • closing the feedback loop

Student representatives also have access to a range of opportunities to support their personal and professional development, and a number of reward and recognition schemes, including HEAR recognition and the Edinburgh Award for Student Development.
