Whether you’re starting university or continuing your studies, there are lots of options and support available for finding somewhere to live. You may choose to apply for University-managed accommodation or move into a privately rented flat.

If you’re looking for accommodation this year, we’re here for you with advice and support.

We understand that trying to find accommodation can be stressful. This page sets out some options, useful information and sources of support.

Accommodation Advice Service

If you are still looking for a place to live in 2025/26, our Accommodation Advice Service is here to provide in-person advice and support. There is no need to book an appointment – you can just drop in.

Monday 1 September to Friday 12 September

12pm to 2pm (Monday to Friday)

Health & Wellbeing Centre, 7 Bristo Square, Edinburgh, EH8 9AL

Over Arrivals Weekend (6 and 7 September), the service will be available online and by phone. Students can call 0131 651 2107 or email domus.enquiries@ed.ac.uk.

The University provides catered and self-catering residential accommodation for more than 10,000 students, including community and welfare support through its Residence Life service.

You may wish to rent a property from a private landlord or agency during your time at the University.
