If you have a minor illness, a pharmacy is the first place you should go to for advice. You do not usually need an appointment and you can go to any pharmacy.

Bristo Square Pharmacy

Bristo Square Pharmacy is an independent community pharmacy located within the Health and Wellbeing Centre on Bristo Square. It is open to students, staff and members of the public, and provides a range of NHS and private healthcare services. 

NHS Pharmacy First and Pharmacy First Plus at Bristo Square Pharmacy 

NHS Pharmacy First Plus Scotland provides free advice and treatment for a range of common conditions without a GP appointment.  

Bristo Square Pharmacy has an independent prescribing pharmacist on site, who can provide the Pharmacy First Plus service. This includes assessment, diagnosis and prescribing for a wider range of common clinical conditions such as:   

  • Urinary tract infections 
  • Respiratory infections 
  • Ear, nose and throat infections 
  • Skin infections and presentations  
  • Allergies
