Cancellation of the General Council Half-Yearly Meeting

In response to the rapidly evolving impact of Covid-19 and with the health and safety of our staff, students and visitors in mind, we have taken the disappointing decision to cancel the next scheduled meeting of the General Council on Saturday 13 June 2020.

Papers for this meeting are contained within the summer edition of Billet, along with information about forthcoming meetings and elections.

Members are encouraged to contact the General Council Office with any matters they wish to raise. However, as the General Council Office is currently closed, please communicate using the General Council e-mail address: General.Council@ed.ac.uk.

Half-Yearly Meeting February 2021

The next Half-Yearly Meeting of the General Council will take place on 6 February 2021 in the Informatics Forum. The Principal will present the Annual Report from the University, and lunch will take place after the meeting in the Playfair Library. More information is available on the website:

About the General Council

The General Council is the formal voice of graduates of the University of Edinburgh, and plays an active role in the University's governance, prosperity and well-being. The Half-Yearly Meeting aims to give alumni an overview of its work and current developments at the University.
