Enactus Edinburgh, a student-run social enterprise that won the UK Enactus competition, reached the final eight in the Enactus World Cup in California earlier this month. Many of the team's projects were supported by alumni through the Student Experience Grants scheme.

5. Doddie's pledge to MND research

Researchers have received £250,000 from the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation, launched by former rugby star Doddie Weir, to support the research that will use lab tests to investigate whether drugs that already treat a range of conditions could help people with motor neurone disease.

The Inaugural Lecture by Professor Stefan Bilbao at Edinburgh College of Art will take place on Monday 19 November - and alumni are invited. He'll examine physics-based audio through sound synthesis and virtual acoustics.
