Special Circumstances Procedure

Information on the Special Circumstances Procedure and the requirements for students wishing to apply for Special Circumstances.

Students may experience circumstances that impact their ability to attend lectures, tutorials, laboratory sessions, course examinations, or to submit their coursework. Students are encouraged to contact their Student Adviser right away to start the process of applying for Special Circumstances as there are deadlines. This includes filling out a form to detail the circumstances, requirements for providing evidence, and identifying the assessments and other activities impacted. The case will be considered by a Special Circumstances Committee and the local Board of Examiners when considering the student’s course marks and degree classification.

The regulatory framework for Special Circumstances and details of the process are provided by Academic Services.
