Developing skills to support students with mental health challenges

Information for staff on developing skills in order to support students with mental health challenges.

Students may have a learning profile in place that supports any mental health challenges they experience during their studies. The learning profile details the support adjustments needed for the individual student as a helpful resource for providing additional support. Students with or without a learning profile can access the University Support Services, including the Student Disability Service and Counselling Service, when experiencing mental health challenges.  Both services provide training for staff supporting students.

Students experiencing mental health challenges may need to access the support of coursework extensions, special circumstances or interruptions of studies.
