Get Started

As you prepare for the start of university, there are some important things to think about, such as arranging accommodation, getting connected to your student email, and exploring optional courses for your personal timetable.

From the time you submit your application until you start your studies, you’ll receive clear and helpful information to support your transition to the University of Edinburgh. This includes practical guidance, useful resources, access to support networks (such as live Q&A sessions), and advice to help you prepare for student life.

From June onwards, the New Students website will be your main source of information, with everything you need to get ready for starting university. We recommend bookmarking the site and checking it regularly in the lead-up to your start date.
