Inflammation researchers take part in science festivals
Researchers from the MRC Centre for Inflammation Research will be revealing how the immune system keeps us healthy at science festivals this spring.
The interactive Amazing Immunology workshop will encourage visitors to explore how the immune system can be harnessed to fight cancer.
'Good' bacteria
Visitors will also see how bacteria that live in our gut can help to keep us healthy or sometimes make us sick, and how they can even affect our weight.
Allergies
The family-friendly experience includes a ball pit game to show how the immune system can sometimes overreact to cause illnesses such as allergies.
Family event
Open to all ages, the free event takes place at the Dunbar Science Festival on 5 and 6 March and at the Edinburgh International Science Festival 5 – 8 April.
