The Usher Institute of Population Health Sciences and Informatics launched on October 1 2015.

Professor John Ioannidis (Professor of Medicine, and of Health Research and Policy at Stanford University) delivered an inspirational Inaugural Usher Institute Lecture, a Young Investigator Symposium highlighted some world-leading Usher research, including highlights from some research-led teaching.

The vision of the Usher Institute is to build upon the outstanding heritage of public health, general practice, epidemiology and statistical resaerch at the University of Edinburgh by bringng together new scientific disciplines in social sicence, informatics and data science to advance understanding of disease and improve health and care for patients and populations.
