Donors to the Scholarships appeal share their memories of Edinburgh

When we asked you to share your memories of Edinburgh in the recent Thanksgiving appeal, we were inundated.

Thank you to everyone who sent us their cherished memories. There were too many to publish all of them but some of our favourites are included below.

Edinburgh was where I met my wife, and we passed each lunch hour eating pie and baked beans in a Drummond St Café. The happiest days of my life.

Rag week was a highlight. I remember being horrified by the vets and their intestine skipping ropes. It wasn’t the bourgeois Princes Street we usually see! What laughs!

One graduate remembered the financial support that had helped them study in Edinburgh:

I received a scholarship that meant I spent one year in that marvellous city. It changed my life forever.

The USA Scholarships Fund

Edinburgh Life

Thanks to donations from graduates, the history of Scholarship support at Edinburgh continues today. The USA Scholarships fund has already raised almost $40,000, which, thanks to the matching appeal, is doubled to $80,000. These funds mean that four US students will have the opportunity to begin their studies in Edinburgh this September, and experience all that the University and city has to offer.

Support the University

It is not too late to make a contribution to the US Scholarships appeal. Your gift will help the University in its quest to continue attracting the very best US students.
