Students Investing in Students

With student finances under unprecedented pressure these days, an Edinburgh University student club is going above and beyond to make sure others are able to achieve their dream of a University education.

The Edinburgh University Trading and Investment Club (EUTIC) is the UK’s most successful student run investment club, managing a portfolio of almost £30,000.

Having consistently outperformed the FTSE, successive Presidents of the Club have ensured that a proportion of the Club’s profits are used to create access bursaries at the University.

Our constitution means that the club invest any profits it makes in charitable giving. We’ve always felt it is incredibly important that we give something back to the wider community, and we have a particular passion for supporting education. That’s why we want to ensure others have the opportunity of joining us at Edinburgh.

Forecast for growth

EUTIC

EUTIC set up their first bursary in 2010 in conjunction with the Development & Alumni Department. The awards are available to any student from financially challenging circumstances seeking to pursue a career in the financial services industry.

Since then, the Club have established a second award and hope to be able to do even more for their fellow students in the future.

Part of a bigger picture

The Club’s incredible efforts are part of the University’s wider fundraising initiatives to support current and future generations of talented students. The University now offers the most generous student support programme in the UK, and continues to strive to ensure that an Edinburgh University education is open to all.
