Top 6 Tasks

There is a lot to do before you start university and we have highlighted the top 6 tasks which all new students should do in advance of starting studies.

These top 6 tasks are simple, achievable online and relevant for all new students starting with us this September to do.

You can start most of these tasks approximately 4 weeks before your programme start date.

Before you start your essential tasks, you will need to register for your University log in to access MyEd and other University systems.

Registration is the first step of the matriculation process. All campus-based and online distance-learning students must first register online with the University.

Planning how you will pay your fees and letting us know how you intend to pay is required before you make any payments.

Make sure to check and read your emails regularly and stay on top of important information so you are prepared and informed as you start university and throughout your studies.

Apply for your student card in advance to ensure it is ready for you when you start.

All new taught students are encouraged to complete their Making Transitions Personal pre-arrival review to help you and us prepare for the coming year to make it the best it can be.

The University of Edinburgh Events app is an exclusive space for students to find events happening throughout the academic year.
