Aquallite Data Ltd. is striving to ensure that the needs of the ocean are put first through data-driven decisions. We plan to create the world’s first living map of our oceans by acquiring bathymetric (and other) data using our own fleet of autonomous vessels; which users can access via a portfolio of software products. Having the data available in advance, and accessible as and when required – will save time, reduce uncertainty, and enable environmental impact to be considered from the outset. This will accelerate blue economy growth; unlock vast, unrealised economic potential; and enable the implementation of effective ecosystem conservation.

About Us
Aquallite Data Ltd. emerged from the coming together of two passions – the oceans and data – and a determination to make a positive contribution to our planet. We are all very fortunate to derive great joy from our nature in our spare time, and strongly believe in preserving that for future generations. I (Neil) have been shaped by the experience of growing up in South Africa – spending summer holidays at the best beaches and seas in the world (an unbiased perspective of course). Gareth, my co-founder, has spent many a glorious summer evening on the cricket pitch in quintessential English country-side relishing his beautiful green surroundings. Our advisers, Dave and Rob prefer being on the water, while Neil prefers to career down mountains on two wheels. We value respect, adventure, contribution, and accountability.
Problem
On land, we take it for granted that we have extremely detailed maps that enable us to very effectively plan development, identify areas of significance, and explore new places. In the oceans, less than 20% has been mapped (NOAA, 2023). It’s like choosing where to build your new home – in the dark. This is resulting in the degradation of the economic value of our oceans; greater capital and operational costs than planned; and spending significant sums of money on non-value creating activities.
Solution
Our vision is that the needs of the ocean are put first through data-driven decisions. To achieve this, we are striving to create the world’s first living map of our oceans, which users can access via Aquallite-Data’s software platform. Having the data available in advance, and accessible as and when required – will save time, reduce uncertainty, and enable environmental impact to be considered from the outset. This will accelerate blue economy growth; unlock vast, unrealised economic potential; and enable the implementation of effective ecosystem conservation.
Market
We will enter the Ocean Data Services market and work with Industry, Government, and Academia. Within this market, the segments we believe can serve best are: Marine Renewable Energy, Subsea Infrastructure, Marine Governance, Marine Recreation, and Marine Research.
