Sri Lanka

Undergraduate entry requirements for applicants from Sri Lanka.

Applicants from Sri Lanka are admitted to the University of Edinburgh with a range of qualifications.

Applicants with the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma or A-Levels can be considered for admission to Undergraduate degree programmes at the University of Edinburgh.

Applicants are accepted who have taken the Sri Lankan General Certificate of Education (Advanced level) - offers will generally be equivalent to the A-level requirements listed in the University’s Undergraduate Prospectus

Applicants with qualifications other than those listed above will usually be required to complete a Foundation Year before entering the University.

International Foundation Programme

The University of Edinburgh does not currently accept the above national qualification for direct entry to undergraduate study.

However, our International Foundation Programme (IFP) offers a route into many undergraduate degree programmes at the University of Edinburgh.

The IFP is designed to prepare international students who are not eligible for direct entry into undergraduate study at the University of Edinburgh.

This pre-undergraduate programme is a full-time, one year programme carefully tailored to give international students the experience and skills required to succeed at undergraduate level and help build confidence with academic English.
