Undergraduate entry requirements for applicants from Afghanistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan.

Applicants from, Afghanistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan with a Certificate of Secondary Education would normally be required to complete a foundation year before beginning an undergraduate programme at Edinburgh.

Specific country exceptions for College of Science and Engineering

The College of Science and Engineering accepts some secondary school qualifications from certain countries that they are able to consider plus the completion of internal admissions tests.

On applying to a programme in the College of Science and Engineering with the following secondary school qualification, internal admissions tests will be sent to you in order gain a better understanding of your capabilities in your preferred study area.

Armenia

The Araratian Baccalaureate is accepted for entry. Applicants must have three Extended Level subjects at grades which meet the published A level entry requirements for their chosen degree. Applicants must also meet any A level subject requirements.

Azerbaijan

Applicants will be considered for entry upon successful completion of the Certificate of Secondary School Education with an average of 4.5 overall, with 5.0 in required subjects, and successful completion of internal admissions tests. Suitable English Language certificate required.

Kazakhstan

Applicants who have completed and undertaken the Grade 12 Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools Certificate may be considered for direct entry to Undergraduate study with the following grades: ABB – noting this applies to just the twenty selected Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools only.

Kyrgyzstan

Applicants with an average of 4.5 overall achieved in the Certificate of Completed Secondary Education, with 4.5 in required subjects, will be considered for entry on successful completion of internal admissions tests. Suitable English language qualification required.

If you don’t meet any of the requirements already listed, you will need one of the following qualifications to apply:
