The partnership received the Rolls Royce Science Prize and Eden Award, which recognise excellence in science teaching and environmental approaches to learning respectively.

The project involved the creation of a science newspaper, science clubs, teacher CPD, a parent-children STEM challenge and a community science festival.

Cathy played a vital role, acting as a key partner in the organisation of  a range of science engagement activities, including the community science festival and a holiday science club.

Castleview Primary School is located in Craigmillar, an area of multiple deprivation in Edinburgh. The project increased aspirations, with 20% more students wanting to pursue science, technology, engineering, and mathematics in the future.
