Postgraduate study
Edinburgh: Extraordinary futures await.

Receiving an offer

What happens when you receive an offer and what to do next.

If your application is successful you will receive a formal offer of admission, which contains information about:

  • your chosen degree programme

  • your period of study (including your start date at the University)

  • your supervisors (for research students) or programme director (for taught programmes)

  • your fee status and any additional programme costs, such as research or fieldwork costs

  • the deadline by which you need to accept or decline the offer

  • any conditions on your offer, such as supporting documents that you must provide

Where competition for places is strong, some programmes operate a waiting list system.

We recommend that you reply as early as possible and take careful note of the response date given in your offer.

How to accept your offer
