Shortlist Success for Students and Staff

The School is delighted to see students and staff nominated in the EUSA Students Awards and CAHSS Colleague Recognition Awards.

HCA EUSA CAHSS Awards 2020

Two very important awards shortlists were announced recently, and the School of History, Classics and Archaeology (HCA) is delighted to see students and staff on them.

In 2018/19, Edinburgh University Students' Association (EUSA) introduced the Student Awards – a celebration of student achievements across the University. The results will be announced at the Student Awards ceremony on 2 April at the Assembly Rooms, George Street.

Edinburgh University History Society has been shortlisted for not one, not two but three awards! The Student-Staff Partnership Award, Outstanding Contribution to the Student Experience Award and Outstanding Society Award. Edinburgh University Classics Society's 'Literacy Through Latin' Program has been shortlisted for the Contribution to the Local Community Award for its work with schoolchildren. And Mickey Ferguson has been recognised for her work as HCA EUSA Undergraduate School Representative by being shortlisted for the Student Leadership Award.

Following an unprecedented response from staff within the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences (CAHSS), the shortlist of nominees for the Colleague Recognition Awards has been announced. Over 500 colleagues from around the College were nominated by their peers, across nine categories and the School is delighted to announce that several staff from HCA have been shortlisted for awards.

Kevin Bryant (Technology Support Officer) has been shortlisted for the Susan Manning Award for Inspiring Mentor, Vicky Swann (Curriculum & Quality Assurance Officer) for Leader of Innovation and Change, Emma Donovan (Modern Apprentice – Administrative Assistant in Teaching Administration) for Excellent Newcomer, and Sue Coleman (Head of Research, Knowledge Exchange and Impact) for the Head of College Award for Exceptional Service. Unfortunately, following public health guidance relating to holding events, the awards ceremony scheduled for 19 March has been postponed.

The School sends warmest congratulations to everyone shortlisted in both Awards!
