Dr Grig awarded British Academy Mid-Career Fellowship

Dr Lucy Grig, Senior Lecturer in Classics, has been awarded a British Academy Mid-Career Fellowship for her project 'Popular Culture and the End of Antiquity in Southern Gaul, c. 400-550'. (Published 13th June 2016)

The fellowship, worth £99, 967, will run for the 2016-17 academic year.

The project reflects Dr Grig's interests in ancient popular culture and the role it played in the transformation from the classical to the medieval world, and will result in a book. Her edited book, Popular Culture in the Ancient World, is currently in production with Cambridge University Press and will be published early in 2017. To find out more about ancient popular culture in the form of Aesop and his famous fables you can listen to Dr Grig on In Our Time with Melvyn Bragg.
