Professor Devine to give GTC National Lecture

Professor Tom Devine has been invited to present a prestigious national lecture.

Professor Devine will give this year's National Lecture of the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTC), 7pm, 3 September 2013, Symposium Hall, Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh. His subject will be ' Scottish history and Scottish identity'.

The GTC is the independent professional body which maintains and enhances teaching standards and promotes and regulates the teaching profession at all levels in Scotland.

GTC National Lecturers in the last few years have included film producer and educator Lord Puttnam, the barrister and broadcaster Baroness Kennedy, singer-songwriter and social activist Annie Lennox and the Chief Medical Officer for Scotland, Sir Harry Burns.
