Bursaries for new UK undergraduates

If you are a UK student with the offer of an undergraduate place starting September 2013, you may be eligible for a bursary.

There are two kinds of awards:

  • bursaries for you must apply - Access bursaries, Edinburgh UNITE bursaries, Lloyds Scholarships
  • bursaries for which students are assessed automatically.

Access bursaries

Access bursaries are for new UK undergraduates experiencing financial difficulties.

Deadline: 28 June 2013.

Edinburgh UNITE Bursaries

Edinburgh UNITE Accommodation and Access Bursaries are for new undergraduates who live in England, Wales or Northern Ireland.

Deadline: 28 June 2013

Lloyds Scholarships

Lloyds Scholarships are for new UK undergraduates from below-average-income families.

Deadline: 1 July 2013

Other bursaries

There is no application form for the following two bursaries: if you qualify, you will be assessed automatically.

The Edinburgh RUK Bursary is for new undergraduates domiciled in England, Wales and Northern Ireland with a residual household income of £42,600 or less. It is means assessed through Student Finance England, Student Finance Wales or Student Finance Northern Ireland.

The Scotland Accommodation Bursary is for Scotland-domiciled students living away from home, who apply to be assessed by the Student Awards Agency for Scotland (SAAS) and who are awarded a Young Students' Bursary (YSB) or an Independent Students' Bursary (ISB).
