Alumni honoured by the Queen

Two of our alumni have been recognised in the Queen’s recent Birthday Honours List.

Dr Patricia Wilkie (1972 MA Sociology & Social and Economic History) was awarded Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for services to Healthcare and Patient Involvement in the NHS. Dr Wilkie is President of the National Association for Patient Participation.

Ian Landles (1974 MA History) was awarded Medallist of the Order of the British Empire (BEM) for services to the community in Hawick, Scottish Borders.
