Postgraduate entry requirements for students from Singapore.

You must have a Honours degree from a recognised university in Singapore to be considered for admission.

UK Bachelor Degree ClassificationSingapore Bachelor Degree Classification
First Class (1st)

NUS and NTU Graduates: Honours upper 2nd,  CAP 4.0/5.0, or Honours (Distinction)

Other Institutions: Honours degree First class, GPA 3.5/4.0 or 4.5/5.0

Upper Second Class Honours (2:1)

NUS and NTU Graduates: Honours degree Second Class Lower Division, Honours (Merit) or CAP of 3.5/5.0 or above

Other Institutions: Honours degree Second Class Upper Division, or a four-year Bachelor’s degree with a minimum B grade average or GPA 3.0/4.0 or 4.0/5.0

PhD and research programmes

Typical requirements for entry to research programmes include a minimum of a 2:1 Honours degree in a related subject area or a Master's degree from a recognised university in Singapore:

  • Master of Science by Research (MSc by Research)
  • Master of Philosophy (MPhil)
  • Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)

A research proposal is usually required upon submitting your application.
