Postgraduate entry requirements for students from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Moldova, Montenegro, Republic of North Macedonia, Serbia & Ukraine.

Students must have the equivalent of a very good UK Bachelor degree (from a good institution) in order to be considered for direct admission to postgraduate study at the University of Edinburgh. In addition, you must meet the specific grades or scores listed below.

Country-specific grades and scores

Albania

For entry to most postgraduate taught degrees (MSc), you must have a ise Naivelet te pare (first level diploma), Diploma Jo Universitare or Diplome Universitare from an accredited higher education institution with a minimum grade of 8/10, depending on the subject applied for.

For entry to our postgraduate research degrees (MPhil, PhD), you need the Kandidat i Shkencave.

Belarus

For entry to most postgraduate programmes, we look for applicants to have their Baklavr/Specialist Diploma with a grade of 4.0 if it's on the 5 point scale, and 8.0 if the 10 point scale.

Bosnia-Herzegovinia

For entry to most postgraduate programmes, you need an undergraduate degree, with a grade of 7.0 (in a 10 point scale), or 3.0 (in a 5 point scale).

Moldova

For entry to most postgraduate degrees you need a Diploma from an accredited higher education institution with a minimum average grade 9.

Montenegro

For entry to most postgraduate programmes, you need the Diploma Visokog Obrazovanja from an accredited higher education institution with a minimum average grade 4.0/5.0.

North Macedonia

For entry to most postgraduate you need a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited higher education institution with a minimum average grade 9.0/10.0.

Serbia

For entry to most postgraduate programmes, you need a Diploma Visokog Obrazovanja from an accredited higher education institution with a minimum average grade 4.0/5.0.

Ukraine

For entry to most postgraduate taught degrees (MSc), you need the Bakalavr, Specialist Diploma or Magistr from an accredited higher education institution with a minimum average grade 4.0/5.0.

For entry to our postgraduate research degrees (MPhil, PhD), you need the Magistr or Kandidat Nauk.
