Postgraduate Students

Postgraduate funding opportunities

There are a number of opportunities for first class Master’s and Doctoral candidates to apply for funding.

As students must submit an online application to study at the University, before they can apply for a scholarship award, advance planning is essential.

For example, the first key date for students who wish to start their PhD in 2014 and seek funding from the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) is *5 January 2014, the date by which your study application should be submitted to us in complete form (including all supporting documentation). You can then go on to submit your AHRC funding application by the later deadline of 10 January 2014.

(*Please note: there is no longer an interim deadline of 13 December 2013).

Many other awards have a funding application deadline of 3 February 2014.
