Fourteen awards are offered to University of Edinburgh students undertaking either a one year, full-time or two year, part-time taught postgraduate degree in any subject offered by the University of Edinburgh commencing in the 2014-2015 academic session.
The value of each award will be up to £4,000 which will be deducted from the tuition fees of successful applicants.
The bursaries will be awarded to applicants who are accepted for admission on either a one year full-time or two year part-time basis for a taught postgraduate programme of study at the University of Edinburgh.
Postgraduate diploma or certificate courses are not eligible.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate that they are Scottish either by birth or descent (at least one parent born in Scotland) or that they have been continuously resident in Scotland for a period of at least three years for the purpose of secondary or tertiary education in Scotland.
Applicants should already have been offered a place at the University of Edinburgh and should have firmly accepted that offer or be intending to do so. Application forms for postgraduate admission are available on the University’s web site.
Applicants who do not hold an offer of admission by the deadline will not be considered for the award.
The bursary will be awarded on the basis of academic merit with due consideration also being given to financial circumstances.
Candidates will normally require a first-class honours degree.
A completed application form, together with the correct supporting documentation, as outlined in Section D of the application form, should be received by the Scholarships and Student Funding Services by the closing date of 15 May 2014 in order to be considered for the award
A Selection Committee will meet in late May 2014 to select the award holders. All applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application in June 2014.
