Huge congratulations to Jasmin Paris who won a 268-mile ultramarathon on Wednesday the 16th of January.  Jasmin is an Edinburgh Clinical Academic Track/Cancer Research UK Fellow at the University of Edinburgh. She wasn’t just the first female to finish the race – she beat everybody in a course-record time of 83 hours 12 minutes 23 seconds. She did this during a “short break” from her PhD thesis work on acute myeloid leukaemia while also expressing breast milk for her baby. We really have some extraordinary people in the war against cancer doing research here in Edinburgh!
