Susan Rosser, Professor of Synthetic Biology and Director of the UK's Centre for Mammalian Synthetic Biology, is spotlighted in Edinburgh Innovations Extraordinary People campaign

As recipient of a prestigious Chair in Emerging Technologies, designed to support global research visionaries and Co-director of the Edinburgh Genome Foundry for DNA synthesis and assembly, Susan leads multi-million-pound research programmes and industry collaborations that push forward the frontiers of personalised medicine.

As a major figure in Synthetic Biology Susan's  greatest hope is that the technologies we are developing now in engineering biology will have a huge impact on solving problems in medicine and climate change.
