RFC Alumni Weekend *POSTPONED TO FEBRUARY 2025*

Edinburgh University RFC invites all our members and alumni to join us for a weekend of fun, food and sporting action.

Edinburgh University Rugby Football Club Alumni Weekend, 23 - 24 February 2024

Friday 23rd February 

2pm
EURFC Golf Day (Prestonfield Golf Club, 6 Priestfield Road North, Edinburgh EH16 5HS)

For any and all keen golfers there is an opportunity for a round on the Friday afternoon to commence the weekend. Depending on numbers and preference, this could instead take place on the Sunday morning. Please do let us know which you would prefer. Prices are below.

Saturday 24th February

Ireland vs Wales live on the big screen (The Three Sisters, 139 Cowgate, Edinburgh EH1 1JS)

Ireland will host Wales for round three of the 2024 Guinness Six Nations Championship in Dublin. Meet up with your fellow EURFC Alumni in our reserved space or get involved with the masses in the courtyard for the big screen viewing. Order food and enjoy discounted beverages while watching the warm-up game in anticipation before we move onto newly named "Scottish Gas" Murrayfield.

The Calcutta Cup: Scotland vs England (Scottish Gas Murrayfield Stadium, Roseburn Street, Edinburgh EH12 5PJ)

Scotland will be looking to extend their three-year winning streak as they host England for the 130th edition of the Calcutta Cup. 

From the first game played at Raeburn Place, Edinburgh on 10 March 1879, the 144-year old fixture is the oldest trophy contested for between two international rugby teams. 

Unfortunately, ticket sales through the club have now ended. For those that did request tickets through the club, these will be allocated shortly so please do look out for them via your emails. Alternatively, you are welcome to purchase tickets via other means.

Black Tie Dinner (The Scotsman Hotel, 20 North Bridge, Edinburgh EH1 1TR)

There will be fundraising opportunities, including a raffle, with all proceeds directly supporting the club (any donations to the raffle will be appreciated).

8:15pm - Drinks reception

8:45pm - Sit down for Dinner

8:50pm - Club Presidents welcome followed by club updates.

9:50pm - Fundraiser raffle and games

Midnight - finish.. or off to WhyNot...

Drinks

The ticket will also include a complimentary drink on arrival at the drinks reception, as well as half a bottle of wine per person for the meal. 

Food allergens and requirements

There will be some questions to answer when purchasing the ticket. This includes an option to detail any food or allergen requirements you might have. You can also email me at eurfcalumni@gmail.com to confirm these requirements.  I will then contact individuals to discuss alternative menus.  

Price

£80 - you may purchase more than one at a time if you are looking to reserve a table. The maximum number of tickets available to purchase at one time is 10 which will be the maximum seating per table.

After dinner, march across the bridge to WhyNot Nightclub where queue skip entry is provided with your ticket! 

Sunday 25th February

11am - 1pm
Brunch (location tbc)

Discuss the antics of the night before and predict the score for the upcoming match between France and Italy before heading to a venue of your choice to watch the game which kicks off at 3pm.
