Alumna Alice Sheldon, who graduated from the Dick Vet in 2003, ran a marathon every day from 1st September to 8th October as part of Not One More Vet (NOMV) Race around the World 2023 challenge.

Alice undertook the challenge to support the work of NOMV charity and to help promote mental wellbeing in the veterinary profession.

On Day 17 of the 38 day challenge, Alice completed her 17th marathon in a run that started and ended at Easter Bush Campus. To help keep her company on her run, she was joined by over 20 Dick Vet staff and students, as well as the School’s own ultra-runner and vet Jasmin Paris.

The group completed a 5km or 10km run around the campus’s Trim Trail before Alice, accompanied by her husband and fellow Dick Vet graduate Mike, friend Andy and vets Jasmin and John from the Dick Vet Hospital for Small Animals, completed a further 32 km to complete her 42km (26.2 mile) daily target, crossing the finish line outside the Vet School.

You can see Alice’s journey on Facebook @AliceSheldon and Instagram @alice.e.sheldon.

Big congratulations to Alice on her amazing achievement!
