The International Foundation Programme (IFP) offers international students a route into an undergraduate degree at the University of Edinburgh. The University's International Foundation Programme provides eligible students with a route to many degree programmes within the University of Edinburgh. This pre-undergraduate programme is intended for international students whose country’s high school qualifications are not accepted for direct entry to an undergraduate degree and whose first language is not English. The IFP is a full-time, one year programme carefully designed to give international students the experience and skills required to thrive at undergraduate level and help build confidence with academic English. For students who complete the International Foundation Programme but choose not to study a degree at the University of Edinburgh, we will also provide support with the process of applying to other UK universities.
