Disability and Learning Support: How and When to Get Help

If you have a disability, learning difference, health condition, or are neurodivergent and this affects your studies, you can contact the Disability and Learning Support Service (DLSS) at any time during your studies. You are never too late to seek support, although getting in touch earlier can be particularly helpful if you need exam adjustments.

What support can DLSS provide?

Once you’re registered, DLSS can offer:

  • A discussion of academic adjustments, exam arrangements, and other support options
  • A formal assessment of needs, with tailored recommendations
  • Help with applying for disability-related funding, where appropriate
  • Information about assistive technology and personal support
  • Advice on study skills and learning support
  • Liaison with Schools and Services regarding teaching adjustments and residential accommodation

Register with DLSS

We recommend registering as early as possible so we can understand your needs and make appropriate arrangements.

The quickest and easiest way to register is by completing our online registration form:

As part of the process, you’ll be asked to upload supporting documentation relating to your disability, learning difference, health condition, or neurodivergence.
