Details of the responsibilities of the wider teaching team within the Student Support model. When we say teaching teams, we’re referring to any member of staff who is in contact with students within a learning and teaching environment. This includes, but isn’t limited to, Course Organisers, other lecturers, tutors, demonstrators, workshop leaders, lab leaders, and lab technicians. Key responsibilities: Deal with enquiries relevant to your subject and role. Have a basic knowledge of the student support available at the University and that Student Advisers should be the first point of contact for any non-academic student query. Provide a welcoming and supportive environment for students to learn. If approached by a student with a personal issue, make the student feel listened to before pointing them to the Student Adviser for further help. Raise any issues or concerns around student wellbeing with Student Advisers, or refer a student to the Wellbeing Service. This article was published on 2024-11-12
