Student Support Teams

IT Support Tools

IT tools to help both Personal Tutors and Student Support Officers in their role supporting students.

Personal Tutor Tools

Developed and maintained by Student System, the Personal Tutor Tools facilitates online communication between students and their Personal Tutors and other members of the Student Support team. Staff can use the tools to assign tutors, schedule and comment on 1:1 and group meetings, and manage emails; while student can access their MyEd Personal Tutor channel to track content of meetings and record their own comments. The tools also allow Personal Tutors to view the awards, course information and progression decisions of their students once these are entered in EUCLID, to provide information on student progression on their studies. Online support is available here:

EUCLID Student Hub

EUCLID is the University’s Student Record System and the Student Hub allows colleagues to view and update the student record (depending on access). The following link takes colleagues through a number of common scenarios that will help you access student details effectively:

Path

The recently developed course choice tool Path may also be a useful resource for Personal Tutors and other relevant staff. Path is a visual course selection and programme builder tool, created by students to enhance the resources available on course choice. This tool is now available to staff and students across the University. Path allows students to consider their degree pathway, review outside course choices, understand co-requisites and pre-requisites and generate a timetable.

Timetabling

The Timetabling Unit have developed guidance for personal tutors using the course timetable browser.
