New outdoor fitness opportunities coming to Peffermill early 2021

The installation of the new PLAE lockers in early 2021 will offer the opportunity to combine outdoor training and sports conditioning on a single site and adds to the first class offering for students and the wider community at Peffermill.

Since 2009, PLAE have worked to reinvent athletic flooring as a foundational component of any advanced training space offering innovative and high-performance solutions. The new PLAE Lockers which will be installed at Peffermill are the latest iteration of this drive.

“At PLAE we Design & Build Innovative Solutions for those who refuse second best! Our ability to blend aggressive aesthetic design with performance enables us to deliver world-class solutions for our customers & this project with the UOE is no different. Watch this space…”

Available for teams, individuals and group exercise, the PLAE Lockers will be installed on the sprint track between Peffermill’s two international water-based hockey pitches. The lockers will offer multiple functional fitness stations including squat stands, pull up bars, rope climb and punch bags, other small equipment such as medicine balls, kettlebells and slam balls and dedicated cardio space for equipment such as ski ergs, rowers and bikes. A new 20m section of turf track is also being added to allow for further conditioning uses like sleds and battle ropes.

“We are delighted to be the first University to bring PLAE lockers to the UK. Offering the opportunity to combine world-class outdoor sport and conditioning training will be a game changer for our students and wider sporting community and show-cases our commitment to being at the forefront of innovative solutions across the world of sport and fitness.”
