Wild Peffermill
We're turning the University's playing fields at Peffermill into a wildlife haven, and you're invited to be part of it. We will be working with the Department for Social Responsibility and Sustainability to support nature and biodiversity at Peffermill , setting the stage for our Wild Campus vision.
The University of Edinburgh has a proud and successful history of hosting major sporting events and competitions, performance athletes and professional sport team training camps, and other conferences and events.
We have collaborated with US based company PLAE, to deliver a new outdoor fitness solution to Peffermill, the first of its kind in a UK or European Higher Education setting.
Peffermill offers six premium artificial 5-a-side football pitches and one 7-a-side pitch.
Our multi-sport 3G artificial pitches cater for a range of sports including football, rugby, lacrosse and recreational games/events.
Peffermill is the Scottish Hockey Centre of Excellence with two floodlit water based pitches as its centrepiece.
Peffermill's natural turf pitches are acknowledged as being amongst the best in the East of Scotland and are used for a wide variety of sports including football, rugby, lacrosse and shinty.
Archery, cricket and sprint track facilities are also available at Peffermill.
