There were over 250 applications across the different roles from students studying a wide range of courses including Applied Sport Science, Physical Education, Biological & Medicinal Chemistry, Computer Science & Mathematics, Law, Geography to Geophysics and many more, demonstrating the popularity and demand among the student population for roles that offer practical, real life experiences.

It is testament to the development of the programme that participants now account for over 20% of the entire Sport & Exercise team.

Anything is possible

The 23/24 cohort have now been welcomed into the Sport & Exercise team and have participated in an intensive induction week ahead of the new Academic Year.

Meeting the new and existing staff. It definitely made me even more excited to get going and made any fears/nerves of the job disappear, they were so welcoming.

As well as our own Sport & Exercise 'New Starters Essentials' and 'Job Role Essentials and Expectations' training, participants have also received training on Technogym and WattBike equipment from external experts.

It was really exciting and engaging to have had such a wide variety of induction activities - from the introduction presentations as well as the very practical elements presented with a lot of detail by Technogym and the WattBike course, it created a really holistic approach to learning about our new roles. Very excited for next week!
