Focus on resilience at Psychology Research Day
Psychology Centre to host research event inspired by the work of incoming Director Andrew McIntosh
The Centre for Cognitive Ageing and Cognitive Epidemiology (CCACE) at the School of PPLS is hosting its 10th annual research day from 12pm to 5pm on Tuesday 5 September in the Psychology Building, 7 George Square.
Introducing the incoming Director
The event theme 'cognitive and emotional resilience through life' is inspired by incoming Director Professor Andrew McIntosh. Current Director Professor Ian Deary will be handing over the role to Andrew later this year.
As one of two keynote speakers, Andrew is delivering a presentation on “Depression and psychological resilience: Their causes and consequences".
The second keynote presentation from Professor James Boardman, Reader and Honorary Consultant in Neonatal Medicine at the University, will cover 'consequences for brain development and neurocognitive outcome' in premature babies.
Research highlights
Complementing the two keynote presentations are talks from various research groups at CCACE. A lunchtime poster session will kick-start the event ahead of research talks, giving you the opportunity to explore fascinating findings from CCACE researchers.
The event closes with a drinks reception where you can discuss the research talks with fellow event attendees.
