Lecturer in Theoretical Syntax
Grade U0E8
The School seeks to appoint an open-ended, full time Lecturer in Theoretical Syntax, within the department of Linguistics and English Language in the School of Philosophy, Psychology and Language Sciences.
The successful candidate will be expected to maintain and develop the School’s current research and teaching profile in theoretical syntax, and to build links to other related strengths in the University, possibly including syntax and its interfaces with semantics, pragmatics, and morphophonology; acquisition of syntax; sentence processing; grammar change; linguistic fieldwork; computational models of syntax; and language evolution.
The successful candidate will be expected to have an excellent publication record for their career stage, and to demonstrate potential for attracting external grant funding. The potential to make a significant contribution to the teaching and research culture of the School is essential. The successful candidate will offer courses at both UG and MSc level and will be expected to supervise and recruit PhD students.
