Psychology

Lecturer/Senior Lecturer – Full Time/Open Ended

The School of Philosophy, Psychology and Language Sciences is seeking to appoint several Lecturers/Senior lecturers to its department of Psychology.

The post holders will contribute high quality research, teaching and academic citizenship. We are open to candidates with a background in any area of Psychology that fits well into the department’s current research profile (broadly: developmental science; differential psychology; human cognitive neuroscience; language, cognition, and communication; social psychology).

Linguistics & English Language

Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Semantics – Full Time/Open Ended

The successful candidate will contribute original research, high quality teaching, public impact, and leadership in an area of Semantics. The post includes teaching at all levels of the curriculum in Semantics (including formal semantics), contributing to our thriving undergraduate and MSc programmes, and supervising PhD students.

We particularly encourage candidates who will add to our existing strengths, and who will foster connections with colleagues in other (sub-)disciplines within Linguistics & English Language, the School of Philosophy, Psychology, and Language Sciences, and/or Informatics.

Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Sociolinguistics - Full Time/Open Ended

The post holder will contribute high quality research, teaching and academic citizenship.

Current strengths in the department related to sociolinguistics include sociophonetics, language variation and change, language and identity, language and politics, language attitudes, applied linguistics and English dialectology.

The department is interested in building on its existing strengths and in expanding the range of research areas that are currently taught and researched. Applicants are encouraged to indicate in their covering letter how their research programme would add to these current areas of focus.
