EUWHC Return to Eurohockey Champions Challenge

The Edinburgh University Women’s Hockey Club (EUWHC) will be returning to the Eurohockey Champions Challenge in Vienna 2-5 June after winning their tournament last year.

The team will face Whitchurch Saints (Wales), Iris Hockey Lambersart (France) and home team Navax AHTC Wien as they fight for promotion in the elite event.

We’re really proud to support EUWHC as they return to Europe  after a fantastic result last year. We wish them the best and know they will be great representatives of the University’s sporting spirit.

We are delighted that our principal sponsor, Sport & Exercise, are happy to help us yet again, playing in the Eurohockey Championships. Their support throughout the year is invaluable and will help us to achieve our goals in Vienna. We are also lucky enough to be supported by the Innovation Initiative Grant from the Edinburgh Fund at the University of Edinburgh which is very much appreciated.

Due to results in 2016, EUHWC have qualified as the 2nd Scottish team for the European Championships. The tournament also comes off the back of a successful season for the University Team who obtained the domestic treble, winning the Scottish League, Scottish Cup and European Play Offs. In fact, they have already qualified for the 2018 event.

Keep up with the team on Twitter and Instagram as they take part in the competition.
