UNCOVER | Applied Evidence Synthesis

Long Covid (Post-Covid Syndrome)

We aim to summarise and critically appraise the evidence on the prevalence of post COVID-19 syndrome (also known as 'Long Covid').

Post COVID-19 syndrome is clinically defined as "signs or symptoms that develop during or after an infection consistent with COVID-19, continue for more than 12 weeks and are not explained by an alternative diagnosis." Understanding the prevalence of post-Covid syndrome in the population is an important part of planning for national recovery from the pandemic, as well as understanding likely future health needs. This area of work is ongoing.
