Comorbidities and COVID-19
Understanding how COVID-19 impacts people with existing health conditions is important in planning public health responses, from who should be asked to shield, to how vaccination programmes should be prioritised.
People with one or more existing health conditions may be affected by COVID-19 differently than people without, and the severity of COVID-19 may vary depending on particular health conditions. UNCOVER has undertaken reviews looking at the risk factors associated with severe outcomes from COVID-19, as well as the relationship between COVID-19 and asthma. This area of work is ongoing.
