Video transcript

This video details how to access the EdWeb system, the basic interface, and to understand how to provide “preview” pages in the system to colleagues who are not editors.

On every EdWeb site there is a subtle “CMS login” button in the bottom right-hand corner. After clicking this, you will be prompted to log into EASE if you have not already logged in to EASE in your browser, in order to access the EdWeb interface.

The red bar at the top of the screen contains controls to view a range of information about you and the University website, including an expandable tree of the site under “menu tree”.

The grey bar at the top of the screen provides context specific information about the action you are currently performing (through both the breadcrumb and title). The buttons in the top right show both the action you are currently performing (the depressed button) and offers options to alter pages, if you have rights on this site.

Clicking the “view draft” control allows you to “preview” pages – clicking this will take you to a different URL which can be shared with any EASE user.

Moderation allows you to compare two different versions of a page.

You cannot see editing interfaces without having been to training and having been assigned editing rights by the owner of the site in question.

At all times you are able to scroll down then navigate around the site as normal.
