Open Access Week at the Data Library

The Data Library participated in the worldwide Open Access week, 24-30 October, 2011, in some surprising ways.

MANTRA online research data management training

The Data Library has created an online course for University PhD students to improve their research data management skills as the result of a JISC-funded project, Research Data MANTRA (Management Training), funded over the past academic year.

Digimap for Schools wins gold certificate

The new Digimap for Schools service has been awarded the gold certificate for the best overall resource in the Geographical Association’s 2011 Publishers’ Awards.

General Register Office & National Archives merger

The General Register Office for Scotland (GROS) and the National Archives of Scotland (NAS) amalgamate on 1 April 2011. The new body will be called the National Records of Scotland (NRS).

Library roles in research data management

On 22nd March the University will welcome Sam Searle, Data Management Coordinator at Monash University, Melbourne, Australia.

EDINA is 15!

EDINA and Data Library division staff gather to celebrate their 15th anniversary as a national datacentre on 25 January, 2011. EDINA supports the activity of universities, colleges and research institutes in the UK, by delivering access to a range of online data services as a JISC-designated datacentre.
