Learning Energy Systems Project

The University is leading a project to actively reduce energy use in school buildings.

This project will develop a collective ‘Learning Energy System’ involving people, objects, data and machines.

Central to this is a digital system designed to align human needs and comfort with building energy systems, with the aim of to reducing overall energy demand.

Dynamic interactions between people and technology are in plans to be set up using innovative mobile applications.

Unlike many energy reduction projects, this project will put all users of the building at the heart of the ‘Learning Energy System’. Users will participate both individually and collectively, acting as condition sensors and drivers of energy demand.
